We Got a New Look at Rematch, the Revolutionary Football Game from the Creators of Sifu

It is still an unusual thought that the creators of Sifu from Sloclap, that realistic third-person brawler with Kung Fu fights, decided to completely change the genre and move into entirely different waters. We first saw Rematch at The Game Awards ceremony at the end of 2024, and we recently received an announcement for the beta version, a release date, and a new gameplay trailer at the Triple-i Initiative Showcase.

The second trailer reveals the game’s mechanics and characteristic football moves you will have to master to dominate the field in more detail. Rematch offers fast and dynamic 5v5 and 4v4 tactical gameplay with no rules about fouls, offsides, or VAR, putting the emphasis on skill and strategic planning.

All interested players can sign up for the beta test via the official website playrematch.com. The beta version is available only on the PC platform (Steam) and will provide the first glimpse into intense online matches in virtual arenas around the world.

For those who want to be prepared before the launch day, three versions of the game are available:

  • Standard Edition (€24.99) – The base version which includes an exclusive “early adopter” hat.
  • Pro Edition (€34.99) – Provides 72-hour early access, a Captain Pass Upgrade Ticket, and exclusive cosmetic items.
  • Elite Edition (€44.99) – The most complete package, which, in addition to the Pro Edition content, offers an extra Captain Pass, Glitcher sneakers, and the Augmented Reality Cage for additional personalization.

Rematch is set to release on June 19th for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. The open beta version is available for sign-up until April 18th and 19th, which is when it officially begins.
