The Spanish indie studio Anima Project will breathe new life into the beloved action RPG series with Anima: Gate of Memories I & II Remaster. This completely revamped edition, which combines the original Gate of Memories and its sequel The Nameless Chronicles, is set to release in Autumn 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam. The Nintendo Switch 2 version will be released in 2026.
Anima: Gate of Memories I & II Remaster interweaves two stories set in a universe inspired by the Anima Beyond Fantasy tabletop RPG. You will follow the destinies of two protagonists: the Bearer of Calamities, a girl without memories, and The Nameless, an immortal soul condemned to eternal wandering. With branching stories that you will shape, this saga offers a dual-perspective narrative that explores themes of destiny, memory, and sacrifice.
The Remaster rebuilds both games from the ground up and brings an enhanced visual presentation. Additionally, the fast-paced combat system has been completely rebalanced, blending real-time action with classic RPG mechanics. You can perform various combos and strategic attacks and seamlessly switch between characters using the Dual System to link moves.
