The bold new adventure Chronicles: Medieval is set to captivate players with its comprehensive vision of the Middle Ages. Unveiled at Summer Game Fest 2025, this game, developed by Raw Power Games, is planned for a Steam Early Access release in 2026. Featuring narration by Tom Hardy in the cinematic trailer, this sandbox RPG merges action, strategy, and historical depth, inviting you to shape your own destiny in a dynamic 14th-century Europe.

While the trailer revealed almost nothing about the gameplay itself, the Steam page at least somewhat describes what awaits us. Namely, you start as a humble peasant, and the game’s vast world, spanning Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa, offers an environment where every choice you make matters. All this somewhat reminds us of Mount & Blade, so we can expect a similar game.

In the game, we will have a lot of freedom, meaning we can become a merchant, a powerful ruler, or even an experienced general. The developers promise castle building, massive battles, all rendered with top-tier Unreal Engine 5 visuals. Chronicles: Medieval emphasizes realism and will reportedly include real historical figures and authentic martial arts thanks to a collaboration with HEMA expert Björn Rüther.

The sandbox nature of Chronicles: Medieval brings an endless story. In other words, you can explore cities, manage resources, and form alliances or rivalries, shaping the economy and events through your actions. The game will also support mods, allowing players to create everything from new missions to zany fantasy additions.
