At Summer Game Fest 2025, Section 9 Interactive, a studio founded by developers behind Little Nightmares, Little Nightmares 2, and LittleBigPlanet PS Vita, teamed up with Epic Games to unveil their new project End of Abyss. This sci-fi survival horror game promises a blend of atmospheric exploration and horror, drawing inspiration from the darker corners of science fiction.

The reveal trailer introduced the technician, Cel. Her task is to unravel the mysteries of an underground facility. As Cel navigates this abandoned world, she will face monstrous creatures and an eerie environment where nothing is normal. Survival requires adaptability, featuring tense combat and an equipment upgrade system to fight enemies. Much like Little Nightmares, End of Abyss prioritizes exploration but stands out with branching paths and hidden areas that deepen the game’s unsettling allure.

End of Abyss attracted attention with its unique top-down FPS perspective. This style has drawn comparisons to the title Inside from Playdead studio. The game is slated for release in 2026 for PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
