Two brothers, Jason and Jalen Fleming, founders of Eagle One Studios, are developing Ether Chronicles, in which players act as Ether “monster” tamers with the goal of catching them all.

Ether Chronicles is a narrative-driven monster-taming RPG built with the Maker MV engine, where players collect, train, and battle “Ether Monsters” to become the best tamer in the world and solve the mystery of the “Shadow Monsters” phenomenon in the region.

The brothers revealed that 11 months have passed since the game concept was created. It started as a fun project, and by March 2023, they began developing the narrative and gameplay. They plan to launch a Steam page in January 2024, with the game expected to release between March and June next year.

“Pokémon Emerald was the first video game we ever played, so we wanted to create a similar monster-taming experience, but with a focus on story. The battle system is inspired by the Persona series, though we’re still refining it and experimenting with new ideas,” Jason said.
