Here in Croatia, massive summer wildfires often hit the coast; some are deliberately set, others are caused by extreme heat. Watching firefighters battle the flames on television, you think: “They are truly doing something brave.” That is precisely why the firefighting simulation Rescue Ops: Wildfire from the Exkee studio skips the unrealistic nonsense and aims to bring something new to this genre.

In Rescue Ops: Wildfire, you control authentic fleets of firefighting vehicles, including fire trucks, helicopters, and water-bombing aircraft (Canadairs). You will move to incident locations, rescue trapped civilians, clear forests with specialized equipment, and directly fight the flames using water hose systems. Every decision matters as you coordinate tactically, such as calling in aerial water support or setting up defensive lines to stop the fire’s spread.

The game brings two modes: Campaign and Sandbox. The Campaign throws you into a season with diverse wildfire scenarios in vast, real-world-inspired locations. In Sandbox mode, you can test your skills against larger, unscripted wildfires. Namely, Exkee has big plans for the Rescue Ops franchise. Wildfire is just the beginning, and the studio intends to expand into urban firefighting operations and other emergency rescue duties.

Rescue Ops: Wildfire is expected to be released in late 2025 for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, and for Xbox consoles.
