Everything You Need to Know About Escape Simulator 2 Before Launch Next Week

The highly anticipated Escape Simulator 2 is set to launch in less than a week, and developer Pine Studio has released a comprehensive guide detailing everything players need to know before release. The team is currently in full polish mode for what they call their “biggest game ever”, scheduled to arrive on Monday, October 27th.

The sequel is launching with an approachable price point of $19.99 / €16.99 / 14.99 GBP, maintaining the same base cost as the original game. For the first two weeks, a 10% launch discount will be offered, and regional pricing has been carefully adjusted.

At launch, the game will include 12 all-new rooms across three themed worlds, with the rooms being significantly larger than those in the first Escape Simulator. The launch content is organized into three themed packs:

  • Dracula’s Castle
  • Starship EOS
  • The Cursed Treasure

The rooms are estimated to take between 45 to 60 minutes to complete. The game also introduces new “Darkest puzzles” for an extra challenge, along with various secrets and tokens to discover.

Editor 2.0 and Future Plans

A major focus of the sequel is the new Room Editor 2.0, which will launch alongside the game. The editor has been rebuilt from the ground up to feature faster tools, better visuals, and includes a highly requested feature: stairs. To support the creator community, the developers are also preparing an educational video series in collaboration with community expert Robin, set to roll out soon after launch.

On the technical side, Escape Simulator 2 is optimized for a smooth experience across a wide range of PCs. The game features full gamepad support and is confirmed to run smoothly on the Steam Deck. It will also include achievements, Steam Trading Cards, and Steam Cloud saves from day one, with full Family Sharing support.

While the primary focus has been on delivering the best possible Steam experience, Pine Studio confirmed plans to expand to other platforms eventually:

  • VR Version: The team loves VR and confirmed it is on their list, most likely as a free update once development is complete.
  • Consoles: Console versions are also planned, but players should expect these to arrive later, with more details anticipated next year.

Furthermore, Pine Studio has confirmed that the original Escape Simulator 1 will continue to be actively supported by a dedicated in-house team, with a new DLC and new free rooms already in development for the first game. For the sequel, the team is already preparing new content, including both free and paid DLCs.

Escape Simulator 2 will be available on PC via Steam. The game is designed for solo play or online co-op for up to 8 players. Our review is also in the making.
