The survival and city-builder game Farthest Frontier, developed by Crate Entertainment, has released a new roadmap as preparation for the game’s full launch. Since entering Early Access, the game has sold over 1 million copies, gathered more than 1.5 million wishlists, and received thousands of “Very Positive” reviews on Steam. This roadmap outlines the major features players can expect on the way to version 1.0.

In Farthest Frontier, you build a town in the untamed wilderness, gather resources, hunt, fish, farm, and craft items for trade, defense, and survival. The game features a deep agriculture system, numerous unique buildings, and customizable religions. You’ll then need to defend your settlement with strong fortifications and an army, protecting it from raiders equipped with cavalry and catapults.

Version 0.9.3 will significantly improve game performance, with tests showing up to a 100% increase in framerate in large settlements. This update also rebalances the game’s pacing, increases desirability and entertainment radius, and introduces new combat controls. Version 0.9.4 will upgrade tier-5 housing, allowing shelters to be upgraded into impressive villas and bakeries into prestigious patisseries, satisfying citizens’ desire for luxury.

Version 0.9.5 expands gameplay with a minimap for better navigation, a crop summary window for managing farms, and exploration rewards for rescuing lost sites. Version 0.9.6 introduces updated simulations, adding voice lines for villagers and new interactions to make the town feel more alive. A revamped custom mode will allow players to create their ideal play experience.

Finally, version 1.0 will include a full tech tree and expanded settlement-optimization options. New victory conditions will allow players to achieve ultimate success, leaving a lasting mark with magnificent monuments.

Farthest Frontier is currently available for PC in Steam Early Access.
