Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era has surpassed 750,000 wishlists on Steam within just one year. This success reflects a significant resurgence of interest in the beloved franchise, which began in 1995 and has faced declining support from Ubisoft until Unfrozen Studio’s revival effort. The milestone also coincides with the 30th anniversary of the series, which Ubisoft plans to celebrate on October 9, 2025.
“This makes us maintain our ranking as the top-1 in the Turn-based Strategy and puts us among the top-5 titles in the Strategy categories, as well as among top #31 on the global wishlists list in the official Steam Wishlist chart — all of that in A YEAR. Frankly? WOW! You guys are absolutely incredible when it comes to your love for the game!”

Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era is a turn-based strategy game slated for an early access release in Summer 2025. As a core entry in the series, it will see players control heroes who explore a game world, gather resources, recruit units, and engage in strategic decision-making. The combat system takes place on a grid, drawing inspiration from the fan-favorite Heroes of Might & Magic III.
The developers are also introducing new features to improve the gameplay. Unlike previous titles, Olden Era will include new RPG elements to add more depth to hero development and narrative. The game will support both multiplayer and cooperative play, and a map editor will allow the community to create and share custom content. The revamped AI, which features multiple difficulty levels, is designed to cater to both longtime fans and newcomers.
