This Tuesday, the long-awaited Hyper Light Breaker, a sequel to the highly acclaimed Hyper Light Drifter, was finally released in Early Access on Steam. Although it’s a fully 3D title with further developed roguelite elements, the game has not been met with the best reception. Just a few hours after launch, the game received very negative reviews, while by the next day, the ratings had improved to “mixed.”

Many players have expressed dissatisfaction with certain game mechanics. One of the main complaints relates to the healing system, which causes players to die frequently, meaning they rarely manage to play for an extended period. Also, a lot of criticism is directed at the parry system. Since the game focuses on dodging and defense along with offense, many find defending against enemies too difficult. Additionally, there are mentions of frustratingly balanced boss and enemy fights and a lack of a proper tutorial.

Despite the criticism, many players praise the game’s solid foundation. They are satisfied with what the game currently offers but believe that, with certain improvements and adjustments, the game could become truly excellent. One of the positives is the price of the game, as it also includes the first installment of the series, which allows for a better introduction to this world.

Hyper Light Breaker is a roguelite title that this time places the main focus on multiplayer and co-op gameplay. If you are interested, you can find the game on Steam. Since it is still in the Early Access phase, numerous changes and content additions are expected in the upcoming period.
