Light of Motiram has been announced, a new “Horizon-like” game with survival and crafting featuring mechanical beasts

Tencent Games subsidiary Polaris Quest has announced Light of Motiram, an open-world survival crafting game reminiscent of Sony’s Horizon series. The game will be available for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, though no release date has been specified.

In Light of Motiram, you find yourself in a post-apocalyptic world ruled by massive mechanical beasts known as Mechanimals. Starting from a primitive age, you’ll explore diverse biomes, fight to survive harsh conditions, and use advanced technology to build a new civilization. With powerful Mechanimals as allies, you’ll battle formidable bosses, uncover ancient mysteries, and shape the world’s future.

Interestingly, the game features fortress and shelter construction using a free-form building system based on real-world physics. Each structure can withstand natural threats, blending creativity and practicality during base building, hopefully with more polish than ICARUS. The combat system is skill-based, emphasizing precise timing and strategy, with dodging, blocking, and parrying crucial for gaining tactical advantage.

You can tame and customize more than 100 Mechanimals, each with unique abilities and development paths. These mechanical beasts assist in battles, boost production, and evolve into powerful companions depending on your needs, drawing even more comparisons to Palworld. You can also team up with up to 10 players to tackle challenges together, hunt Mechanimals, and build bases cooperatively.
