An insider well-known in the Spanish gaming community, MrDry, revealed on Twitter that the next Nintendo Direct is scheduled for June 11. MrDry has a credible track record, having accurately predicted several gaming industry events before they became widely known. His previous leaks included information about Silent Hill, Metal Gear, and Resident Evil.

[UPDATE] As things stand, it appears the Nintendo Direct will not take place tomorrow. According to the latest information, even the well-known insider Pyoro has no details about an upcoming Nintendo Direct. His response was a reaction to MrDry’s post on X.

For context: The last June Directs held early in the month, and on Tuesdays, were the E3 Directs of 2018, 2019, and 2021 (2020 doesn’t count due to the pandemic). In the last two years, the June Direct happened on a Wednesday in the second half of the month. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean it will be this Wednesday, as Nintendo only stated we can expect a Direct sometime this month.

The second half of the month is tricky. The last week is likely off the table due to the release of Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, and Juneteenth, a U.S. federal holiday, falls in the middle of the week, potentially ruling out June 19 and 20 as well. The leaked information doesn’t point to this week at all, but it remains the most likely window unless Nintendo breaks recent trends. Last summer, the Direct took place 10 days after the Xbox showcase, so it’s reasonable to assume that next week is also a possibility.

ORIGINAL STORY

Historically, Nintendo has preferred scheduling its Direct presentations on a Tuesday following other major gaming events. If MrDry’s information is accurate, this will be the third time a Nintendo Direct lands on June 11 when it coincides with a Tuesday, previous instances being in 2013 and 2019. The event is expected to start at 9 AM Pacific Time, following the usual pattern.

Expectations for this Direct are high, as little is known about Nintendo’s upcoming lineup aside from the release of Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD. Rumors circulating within the gaming community suggest several possible announcements, including Metroid Prime 4, a new Donkey Kong game, various Zelda titles, and a remake of Fire Emblem 4. There is also speculation about potential remasters such as F-Zero GX and the Metroid Prime series.

One of the more intriguing rumors concerns a codename project leaked by Midori, hinting at a new game from NDcube, known for developing the Mario Party games. Given the three-year release cycle of mainline Mario Party titles, it’s possible a new installment will be announced, marking three years since the release of Mario Party Superstars.
