The long-awaited football manager game with a deckbuilding twist NUTMEG! finally has a launch date. Publisher Secret Mode and developer Sumo Digital Academy confirmed that the game will arrive on PC via Steam on March 26, 2026. Players who want an early taste can try the free Matchday Experience demo already available on Steam.
NUTMEG! is set in the nostalgic world of 1980s and 1990s English league football. Players take on the role of a classic club manager and guide their team through a 20-year career across the divisions. The game celebrates an era when tackles were tough, haircuts were loud, and football was purely about passion and pride.
The game blends two main styles of play. Off the pitch, players handle full club management. You control finances, arrange transfers, scout talent, and build young players. You also hire and fire staff, improve your stadium, and work to strengthen your squad over time. As you move through four divisions, training and planning become key to earning rewards and improving your team. Each career path allows you to decide whether you want to move from club to club or stay loyal to one team.
On the pitch, the game changes into a card-based system. During matches, you stand on the sidelines and play cards that influence the action in real time. Completing challenges earns new card packs, and combining cards gives bigger boosts. Managing energy, making smart substitutions, and choosing the right formation all matter when chasing victory.
NUTMEG! also comes with a charitable promise. From every sale, £0.05 will be donated to both the Joey Beauchamp Foundation and the Dalian Atkinson Legacy Fund until November 2026. The Joey Beauchamp Foundation supports mental health work within the Oxfordshire community, while the Dalian Atkinson Legacy Fund encourages young people to get involved in sports and build confidence through active play.
