Chinese developer CyancookGames, a studio formed by veterans who worked on games like Naraka: Bladepoint and Diablo Immortal, has announced its ambitious debut title Of Peaks and Tides. This open-world survival crafting game, which is set to launch on PC via Steam in 2026, offers a visually impressive experience rooted in ancient Eastern mythology.
The game places you in the shoes of a “Noland”, who awakens in the depths of Lushland, a once-glorious realm shattered by a cataclysmic war between humans and deities. In this world, powered by Unreal Engine 5, you can cut trees, stack stones, and manipulate the environment through a highly reactive physics system.
Gameplay blends strategic survival with boundless crafting, allowing you to build fortresses and even tame colossal creatures like dragons to use as mounts or mobile bases. Combat is flexible and tactical, mixing direct assaults with environmental strategies like flooding battlefields or setting traps.
To mark the announcement, CyancookGames revealed two trailers. A 3D gameplay trailer showcased the game’s lush biomes and dynamic combat, while a 2D concept trailer delved into its rich mythological lore.
