Japanese publisher Kakehashi Games and Bandai Namco Studios Singapore have announced Hirogami, a 3D action platformer set to launch on PC (Steam) in 2025. This origami-inspired game comes from a team of industry veterans, including developers who previously worked on popular titles such as Ace Combat 7 and Tekken 7.
In Hirogami, players enter a delicate world made entirely of paper, threatened by a mysterious digital force known as the Blight. You take on the role of Hiro, a master of folding techniques, who uses his abilities to explore this fragile universe, solve puzzles, and battle enemies.
The game features a beautifully crafted world where every element, from landscapes to characters, appears to be folded from paper. Hiro can “unfold” into a sheet of paper to glide on warm air currents or transform into a paper airplane to cross dangerous gaps. As you progress, you’ll unlock new forms, such as an armadillo for rolling through obstacles, a monkey for powerful attacks, and a frog for leaping to new heights.
This immersive experience is enhanced by a traditional Japanese soundtrack that complements the origami visuals and emotional tone of the story. The music, inspired by Japanese instruments and styles, perfectly matches the audiovisual identity of Hirogami.
