PLAYISM Game Show Featured 13 Indie Games for 2025 and Beyond

Japanese indie publisher PLAYISM held its PLAYISM Game Show on April 25, 2025, broadcasting live on YouTube and Niconico to showcase updates and new titles. The two-hour event highlighted 13 upcoming indie games scheduled for release from Spring 2025 onwards, including eight titles with new details and five brand-new announcements.

Glaciered, developed by Studio Snowblind, is a futuristic underwater action-adventure game set on Earth 65 million years in the future. The “Eternal Winter” has frozen the planet’s surface, but life thrives beneath the glacier-covered seas. Players control the Tuai, a bird-descended species, as they fight to protect this icy ecosystem from emerging threats. The game’s vibrant world features aquatic plants and fish, brought to life with beautiful visuals. Glaciered is planned for release in Q3 2025 on Steam.

From Madness with Love, a quirky dating simulator from Jamsanpoid and Vampire K.K., is coming to the Nintendo Switch on May 29, 2025. Players navigate a year of school life, building relationships with four eccentric boys through choices that reveal their secrets. The cute pixel art and fully-voiced Japanese dialogue create a bizarre yet charming experience. A special physical edition is now available for pre-order.

Valkyrie of Phantasm, developed by Areazero, is bringing its fast-paced aerial shooter to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 this year. Based on the Touhou Project franchise, players control characters battling in the skies of Gensokyō, dodging danmaku (bullet patterns) while casting spells. The console versions include a full-voice story, 1v1 and 2v2 online matches, and planned DLC characters, aligning with the features of the Steam release.
