Relic Entertainment has announced Earth vs Mars, a turn-based strategy game inspired by classics like Advance Wars. The game is scheduled to be released on Steam during the summer of 2025, bringing a unique twist to the genre by combining strategic gameplay with a sci-fi narrative and innovative mechanics.

The plot of Earth vs Mars unfolds in a world where Martians have been secretly visiting Earth for years, abducting humans and animals to collect their “atomic essence.” After decades of preparation, the Martians return in full force, and Earth must oppose them using a secret weapon called the Splice-O-Tron. This device allows humans to merge with creatures from Earth to create hybrid supersoldiers who will defend the planet.

The game offers various features designed to appeal to both seasoned strategy players and newcomers. The single-player campaign includes over 30 hand-crafted missions, each aimed at advancing the story of Earth’s fight against the Martians. Besides the campaign, players will be able to test their skills in online multiplayer, battling other commanders as the forces of Earth or Mars.

As the campaign progresses, you will unlock new creature types, upgrades, and powerful Commander abilities. However, the Martian forces are also evolving and introducing new challenges like The Creep, a sentient organic weapon, as well as their own mutants.
