Seafarer: The Ship Sim Brings True Maritime Simulation to Your Hands with Very Beautiful Graphics

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to command large cargo vessels? Seafarer: The Ship Sim promises a true maritime simulation experience that will allow you to be the captain of various types of ships. This upcoming title is being developed by Independent Arts Software and will be published by astragon Entertainment. The game is planned to enter the Early Access phase during the Summer of 2025 for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Using Unreal Engine 5 and NVIDIA WaveWorks 2.0 technology, Seafarer delivers impressive visual quality and realistic wave simulations. Dynamic weather and changing sea conditions further deepen the experience to create a convincing and ever-changing maritime world. The game’s open world encompasses a huge map with day-night cycles and different weather conditions.

One of the key features of the game is the ability to choose a maritime career by joining different factions, each with its own missions, such as transporting cargo, extinguishing fires on open waters, rescuing people in dangerous situations, or searching for treasure. The game also offers a story-driven mission mode as well as a mode for enjoying maritime adventures. Additionally, interactive elements include ship maintenance, operating machinery like cranes and water cannons.

Seafarer: The Ship Sim has received financial support of 1.8 million euros from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. The Early Access phase will include core mechanics such as the entire map, various missions, and ship interaction, with plans for additional content like new missions, ships, and potentially multiplayer modes leading up to the final release.
