Seer’s Gambit, an auto-battler RPG with pixel art, comes from the indie studio Unleash The Giraffe. The key to success lies in recruiting, training, and combining members of your party, whose abilities complement each other. Battles are won through clever positioning and strategic combinations of skills and classes.

Visually, Seer’s Gambit evokes classic 8- and 16-bit RPGs with a top-down perspective, like Chrono Trigger, as well as modern titles such as Sea of Stars. Players can explore a large world and upgrade their characters, while the development of character classes comes with an engaging twist. Specifically, the game introduces a “premonitions” mechanic that suggests the best upgrades for success in upcoming battles.

Having tried the demo, the overall impression is that this is a high-quality game. Each character has a speed stat that determines attack order. Enemies can target characters in the front or back row depending on their abilities. You can use characters’ skills automatically or manually, and the game’s speed-up feature makes it more accessible for players with limited time.

Seer’s Gambit will be available on PC via Steam sometime this year.
