THQ Nordic and Grimlore Games have postponed the release of Titan Quest II to Summer 2025, although it was originally scheduled to launch earlier this year on PC via Steam. The decision was made to avoid overlap with the densely packed release calendar for action RPGs and to ensure a higher quality launch. The delay is intended to allow for a stronger and more polished debut.

Recent playtesting covered the introductory chapter set in a vibrant world inspired by Greek mythology. Players explored the environment, selected specializations, and fought the first major opponent — Apollonia the Terrible. According to surveys, 92% of participants had a positive experience, with praise for the visuals, sound, exploration, narrative events, and the general world atmosphere.

Feedback indicated combat as an area needing improvement, with players reporting slowness, imprecise targeting, and ability imbalances. The development studio also introduced two features aimed at fans of the original: a classic left-mouse-button control scheme for movement and attacks, and the option to choose between mouse or WASD control.

Titan Quest II promises a rich ARPG experience with a handcrafted open world, flexible character development through dual specializations, and challenging enemies from Greek mythology. With this delay, THQ Nordic aims to further refine the combat system, optimize performance, and deliver a title that will stand out among the genre’s competition.
