Serenity Forge recently announced that it will port To the Moon, the beloved adventure game from Freebird Games, to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. A release date has not yet been revealed, but it was confirmed that a new entry in the series, The Beach Episode, will launch on September 20 on Steam.

To the Moon is an innovative blend of adventure game elements and classic RPG aesthetics. In this story-driven experience, players take on the roles of Dr. Rosalene and Dr. Watts, who travel backward through the memories of a dying man in order to artificially fulfill his final wish, a trip to the moon. As they try to piece together the tangled events that shaped his memories, they soon discover that his past is far more complicated than it seems.

The Freebird Games title was so well received that it spawned a sequel, Finding Paradise, and even a prequel, Impostor Factory. An animated adaptation was announced in 2018. But the series is far from over. To the Moon will arrive on new platforms with significant enhancements: true 16:9 display, 4K resolution with refresh rates up to 120Hz, haptic feedback support for the DualSense controller, and new trophies.

As for the new entry in the franchise, we know more. To the Moon Series: Beach Episode combines elements from To the Moon, Finding Paradise, and Impostor Factory into a single production. As the main characters embark on a fully-paid vacation, their stay includes various mini-games, mysteries, and relaxing activities. Even the dead return, but something isn’t quite right…

Unfortunately, the console release date has not yet been revealed.
