System 3 has released The Last Ninja Collection + Bonus Games on Steam. Yes, you heard that right. This new collection is both a playable set of classic titles and an effort to preserve gaming history. It lets modern players experience the original Commodore 64, Amiga, and Spectrum versions of these games just as they were. Instead of simple ports, the collection uses accurate emulation so the look, sound, and feel of the originals remain unchanged on Windows PC.

At the heart of the collection is the full Last Ninja trilogy, a series that helped shape action-adventure games. The collection includes the 1987 original The Last Ninja, the hugely popular Last Ninja 2, and Last Ninja 3, which became the first computer game to ever receive a perfect review score. Also included is Ninja Remix, a special version that improves the original game with updated visuals and music. Together, these titles tell the full story of a series that sold more than 23 million copies worldwide.

The collection goes beyond ninja action by adding several important bonus games from System 3’s history. These include International Karate, a fighting game that became the first European title to reach the top of the US Billboard charts on the Commodore 64. Its follow-up IK+ is also included and expanded on the original with better graphics and smarter enemy behavior. The lineup is completed by Bangkok Knights, a Muay Thai boxing game known for its large fighters and unique style.

While the collection is now available digitally on Steam, System 3 is also offering physical editions for collectors. These will soon be available for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 through the official System 3 website. PC players will also be able to buy a physical DVD version that activates through Steam. Xbox Series X/S players, however, will only have access to a digital release.
