The Last Caretaker Update 5.5 Adds Storage Modules and New Quests

The Last Caretaker Update 5.5: Deck Drop launched on August 31st, 2026, adding storage modules, new quests, locations and extensive technical improvements to Channel37’s Early Access survival game.

Deck Drop is the game’s seventh Early Access update and its second addition outside the original roadmap. Although Update 6 remains in development, the studio said it already had enough completed content and player-requested improvements to justify an earlier release.

Storage is the main addition, with 11 container modules covering portable supplies, batteries, petrol and diesel. Container Dispensers have also appeared throughout the world, while the Fishing Module now provides clearer information and improved storage.

New story content includes the MOSES Field Reserve Program and Memory for Aron questlines, accompanied by additional Memories and HoloMemories. Players can also discover Gyro Towers, new gyrocopter landing pads, an expanded warehouse and further secrets, including Room 998’s Transposium Tinfoil Club.

The update addresses loading stutter, vehicle cameras, forklift handling, weather variety, fog visibility and interface readability. Channel37 has also applied fixes covering crashes, crafting, quests, rockets, cables, containers, locations and progression.

The Last Caretaker is available in Early Access for PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. A 20 % discount reduces the advertised price to $27.99, €23.99 or £21.59 until September 13th, 2026.
