Indie studio BornMonkie has announced its new game, Dodo Duckie, a multidimensional puzzle platformer set to launch on Steam in the first quarter of 2026. This charming game will be the studio’s debut title on PC.
In Dodo Duckie, you play as Dodo, a duck who has lived a peaceful life on a farm. That all changes one day when you wake up to discover that aliens have abducted all your chicken friends. It’s now up to you to leave the safety of the farm and go on a unique adventure to rescue them.
The game uses a mix of traditional 2D puzzle platformer mechanics, where you’ll explore the world, collect coins, and navigate obstacles. The main twist comes from a special ability you unlock that lets you literally flip the levels, revealing an entirely new 3D perspective.
This allows you to discover new paths, find hidden treasures, and solve puzzles that blend both 2D and 3D elements. Along the way, you’ll meet a cast of different characters, all while trying to outsmart the aliens and bring your friends home.
BornMonkie’s co-founder and game producer Samveda said the game draws heavy inspiration from genre classics like Paper Mario, Fez, and Gris. He described it as a blend of Fez and Super Paper Mario, calling it “cozy and delightfully goofy, with a duck that has main-character energy!”
