Landfall has officially announced Evil Landfall, a new publishing label that aims to fund and support indie developers. The move comes as the studio looks to expand its influence beyond internally developed titles and into broader support for external creators.

Although Evil Landfall is newly revealed to the public, the entity itself was established roughly three years ago to handle Landfall’s publishing operations. Now led by CEO Kirsten-Lee Naidoo, the Stockholm-based team consists of seven members working both locally and remotely.

While closely tied to Landfall, the label is structured as its own company and is now opening its doors to external developers. However, its current model is intentionally limited, focusing primarily on project-based funding and advisory support rather than full publishing services for outside studios.

This approach reflects a philosophy shaped by Landfall’s own success, particularly with titles such as Totally Accurate Battle Simulator, Content Warning, and the breakout hit Peak, which reportedly sold around 17 million copies.

Evil Landfall is especially interested in projects that align with its established audience: short development cycle games with experimental, physics-driven, and often chaotic multiplayer elements. The company advocates for rapid prototyping and early audience testing, encouraging developers to identify a game’s core concept quickly rather than committing years of resources to uncertain ideas.

While Evil Landfall is open to expanding its role in the future, including potentially taking on full publishing responsibilities for select projects, its immediate goal is to provide flexible funding without restrictive conditions. The company does not retain intellectual property rights and avoids traditional recoup-heavy deals, giving developers greater autonomy over their projects.
