John Szymanski and Evan Szymanski, the brother duo behind Secret Agent Wizard Boy and the International Crime Syndicate, are celebrating a remarkable achievement: the game has reached the rare “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating with 97% positive reviews from 610 users on Steam. Released in Early Access on March 6, 2025, the game blends a chaotic mix of magic, espionage, and humor inspired by old PlayStation 1 Harry Potter titles.
Secret Agent Wizard Boy and the International Crime Syndicate puts you in the role of a young wizard who infiltrates a prestigious magic school like a spy to take down the infamous criminal syndicate S.P.I.D.E.R., led by headmaster Grumblemort. You can follow the mission to find the mysterious vault or embrace total chaos, using spells and explosives to wreak havoc.
John Szymanski openly admitted on X that this perfect Steam rating surprised him, noting that only about 1% of games ever reach such acclaim: “This is something I never would have expected for any game I release, and honestly, it might never happen again in my career. Thank you all so much.”
Today's just a day to feel overwhelmed, I guess.

Wizard Boy just hit a crazy 100% Overwhelmingly Positive rating on recents. This is something I'd never expect on any game I ever release, and honestly may never happen again in my career. Thank you all so much. pic.twitter.com/XLdtGWmNkp
Before its official release, the game drew attention during Steam Next Fest in October 2024, where the demo received 96% positive reviews from 205 users. Players praised its “crazy” approach. The brothers plan to continue developing the title for another two years, adding new spells, missions, and improvements based on community feedback.
