Pirofauna is a charming adventure from the creators of Papetura

In Pirofauna, you take on the role of a small fiery spark wandering through a dark, misty forest. Your ability to ignite anything your tail touches allows you to brighten the darkness, help lost and frightened friends, and drive away hostile creatures. This power also makes it easier to interact with the environment and solve puzzles.

It’s an exploration-focused adventure game still in an early stage of development. Developer Petums is currently experimenting with different directions for the project. As in Papetura, key elements will include a mystical atmosphere and the play of light, with the world once again crafted out of paper. This time, however, everything will be fully three-dimensional, bringing additional depth to the overall experience.

The game emphasizes exploration and storytelling, using a unique fire motif inspired by a fascination with fireworks. The bugs featured in the game are based on real living species, each with its own character and habits. The experience is expected to be a worthy successor to Papetura, but with a focus on helping the forest’s inhabitants rather than engaging in combat.

Pirofauna is coming to PC and Mac, and it will also appear on consoles. There is no set release date yet, but the developer promises it won’t take as long as the previous game, which spent seven years in development. The game will be available on Steam, and you can already add it to your wishlist to follow its development cycle.
