The action-packed platformer ANTONBLAST has taken the gaming world by storm, recouping its entire production budget less than a month after its release. Developed by indie studio Summitsphere and led by designer and composer Tony Grayson, the game builds on the success of its predecessor, Antonball.

Released for PC on December 3, 2024, Antonblast has quickly earned critical and commercial acclaim, ranking among the best games of the year. You take on the role of Dynamite Anton, a demolition worker with a fiery temper, or Dynamite Annie, his female counterpart. The story follows their battle against a jealous Satan to reclaim their stolen booze. With its aggressive dash mechanics, chaotic action, and focus on destruction, Antonblast delivers a wild and colorful experience reminiscent of classics like Wario Land.
Grayson recently announced that despite a delayed Nintendo Switch release and initial performance issues, the game has fully recouped its development, production, and marketing costs. The game’s journey began with a Kickstarter campaign that exceeded expectations. Fully funded in just three days, the campaign raised nearly double its $75,000 goal.
While the studio has yet to reveal specific plans for future projects, Grayson has hinted at exciting developments on the horizon. In our review, we emphasized that “it’s perfect for players who enjoy challenging platformers and are willing to learn tricky controls”.
