October has come to an end, as has the latest edition of Steam Next Fest. Since it’s impossible to cover every production in the form of a written preview, I decided to make a list of games that caught my attention during this event. And who knows, maybe you’ll also find something interesting for yourself among these propositions.

Kingdom of Night

Coming-of-age drama, cosmic horror and finding true love in one story? That’s what you’ll find in Kingdom of Night, an 80s-themed, isometric action-RPG. You take on the role of John, a highschooler awoken by the kidnapping of his neighbor, who sets out into the night to fight back against the demonic invasion and rescue his friends. Choose from 5 different classes: Barbarian, Knight, Rogue, Necromancer or Sorcerer, and find out what has taken over the town.

FATHER

In this game, nothing is what it seems. FATHER, a first-person psychological horror, tells the story of a family who isolated themselves from the sinful outside world in pursuit of salvation. But beneath the perfect facade, tension is slowly growing – explore the dark corners of the home, perform daily tasks, and try to hold onto your sanity as reality itself starts to twist and break. After all, fear doesn’t hide in monsters. It lingers in silence and glances.

Turnip Mountain

How about a platformer where you climb as a… turnip? If that sounds convincing to you, then you should definitely check out Turnip Mountain. Climbing pegs, flinging yourself from spinning wheels, holding on to flailing ropes and battling the elements to reach the peak – all of that will be possible with unique controls that allow players to control each hand to grab walls in order to reach the top. Who knows what you’ll get your hands on?

Nova Antarctica

The setting is the distant future — the 2900s. Earth has been transformed into a desolate planet due to the deadly virus, severe food shortages, extreme weather, and endless wars. Suddenly, a mysterious signal suddenly begins broadcasting from Antarctica to countries around the world. Humanity entrusts its last hope to a single child, sending them to the South Pole to investigate. What fate awaits humanity’s future? That’s the mystery you’ll get to uncover in Nova Antarctica

Rogue Inferno

Now it’s time for a game where strategy and positioning are the keys to victory. In Rogue Inferno, your loyal dog has been taken by a monstrous evil, and it’s time to make him pay. Every move matters: position yourself strategically on the grid to dodge attacks, outmaneuver enemies, and unleash devastating combos. Craft a deck that suits your playstyle and face a wide array of enemies, each with unique behaviors and strategies. Remember: every encounter is a new adventure, so plan your tactics carefully.

REANIMAL

Another title written in capital letters on our list. The creators of Little Nightmares I & II have returned to take you on a darker, more terrifying journey than ever before. REANIMAL is a horror adventure game in which a brother and sister go through hell to rescue their missing friends and escape the island that they used to call home. You must use your wits to escape the hellish island and the dark secret that haunts you.

Spoofs Playland

To change the atmosphere, let’s now look at something relaxing and casual. Spoofs Playland, a family-friendly collection of point-and-click minigames, lets you collect decorations and bond with the adorable Spoofs. Earn rewards, complete quests, buy new backgrounds and hundreds of items, and make your ideal room. In this colorful mix, there’s something for everyone!

Robbing Time

Robbing Time is an online co-op horror heist game for up to 5 players. Play as Robbers, sneak around evading Superheroes and pull off the ultimate heist. You can use your connections in the corrupted prison to buy gadgets, upgrades and choose your mission. But there’s a catch: you may defeat cops and security guards, but the only thing you can do against a Superhero is to hide or run. In short: it’s Robbing Time!

Click to Civ

Smash ancient rocks, collect civilization badges, and grow your hometown into a thriving hub of progress. Click to Civ is a simple yet addictive incremental game where active clicking guides humanity from caves to the stars. Witness your civilization’s power grow as you shift from active clicking to strategic oversight, ensuring growth continues without finger fatigue. No clutter, no unnecessary complexity — just pure progression. Can you spark civilization and lead humanity back to the stars?

Don’t Stop, Girlypop!

Let’s end our list with a bang. Don’t Stop, Girlypop! is a Y2K arena movement shooter where standing still is not an option. The faster you go, the more damage you deal and the more you heal. Master a deep and dynamic combat system to generate high Love scores and become the Cupid of death. In the end, it’s probably the only game where you can add butterflies to your barrel and dominate the battlefield in a quintuple-denim masterpiece.
