Games from Poznań Game Arena that you should definitely keep on your radar

Our visit to Poznań Game Arena, Poland’s largest gaming industry event, was full of fun activities, engaging conversations, and, of course, upcoming games of all genres. We had the opportunity to see previews of many gmaes, talk to developers, and even try out titles that may soon conquer the market. So here is a list of games from PGA that are worth keeping an eye on.

Valor Mortis

An absolute hit at the PGA – it has won four awards, gaining recognition from both the editors of IGN Polska and the audience. Valor Mortis, a first-person action soulslike, puts you in the shoes of a former soldier of Napoleon’s army who has risen from the death. Your mission is to wield supernatural powers, battle horrifying monsters, and unravel a conspiracy that threatens all of humanity.

Mad Bang Bang

While soulslike games require great control mastery, this does not mean that people who have difficulty with this have to give up combat-based gameplay. This is where Mad Bang Bang comes in handy: presented as the world’s first game powered entirely by vocal commands, it puts you in a fast-paced, 1v1 mage skirmish where every spell is unleashed by your spoken word. Master your incantations, choose your champion, and prepare to scream your way to victory.

DAVY x JONES

Yes, I know that the title refers to games that haven’t been released yet, and DAVY x JONES premiered in August this year. However, it is worth noting that the game is still in early access, which gives players the opportunity to influence its final form. In this action-adventure, revenge-driven journey, you ascend to the highest fathom of a pirate underworld with the infamous Davy Jones. Your job is to control the captain’s headless body, stay on pace with his autonomous skull and keep his legend alive.

Legacy of Valor

This year has been great for fans of medieval RPGs – but as it turns out, the fun doesn’t have to end. And that’s thanks to Legacy of Valor, in which you can build, lead, trade, and fight to create a lasting legacy. It’s all in your hands – protect your people and guide them through wars, prosperity, and history in a living medieval world. Every choice shapes the legacy you leave behind.

Above the Snow

Not every day you come across a game that combines cozy atmosphere, story-driven gameplay and tycoon mechanics. Above the Snow encourages you to join the shelter crew and create the best Alpine resort. Prepare your hot cocoa, stay warm, cozy up, and try to survive merciless competition, demanding guests, nosy reporters, and the harshest winter of the ’60s. And there is also a cute dog.

Eyes Of The ElderWood

A first-person adventure horror doesn’t really sound unique – unless you set it in Kashubian folklore. Eyes Of The ElderWood is a story that blurs the line between fairy tale and reality, mixed with psychological horror filled with mysteries and dark magic. Draw spells to solve puzzles and deal with foes, or fight using a revolver. And the most important: don’t let them drive you towards madness.

Cult of Shadows

The darkest secrets of Bel Noa. Hordes of cultists and the Mythos they summon. And the titular Cult of Shadows. There’s no way you can get bored in this dynamic action game that combines elements of Hack and Slash and roguelite genres based on player skills. Defeat fearsome beasts, upgrade your character, acquire and enchant weapons. Die and return stronger to face the mysterious cult.

Rune Ark

Another game that likes to mix genres is coming our way – this time, we’re in for a combination of Match-3 combat and dungeon-crawling RPG mechanics. In Rune Ark, you play as a young squire who needs to uncover ancient secrets and battle eldritch horrors beneath the castle. It’s more than just a puzzle game – it’s a test of strategy, resilience, and the choices that define a hero.

The Blood of Dawnwalker

Another promising medieval RPG in making. The Blood of Dawnwalker puts you in a dark fantasy version of 14th-century Europe. You play as Coen, a young man turned into a Dawnwalker, forever treading the line between the world of day and the realm of night. Fight for your humanity or embrace the cursed powers to save your family. Whatever your choice, the question stands: is your soul worth the lives of those you love?

Scriptorium: Master of Manuscripts

What’s it like to be a scribe, huh? You will find the answer in Scriptorium: Master of Manuscripts. Run your manuscript workshop, receive orders to illustrate medieval books, decorate them any way you like, and send them back to clients to get paid. It’s your time to create beautiful (or weird) medieval illustrations (or memes) and become the Queen’s favourite artist.
