The world of Novo is expanding, and its inhabitants are at war. Publisher Thunderful and developer Wishfully have provided a new look at Planet of Lana II: Children of the Leaf, detailing how the sequel will build upon the original’s silent storytelling while introducing new environments, characters, and complex political factions.
The first Planet of Lana followed 11-year-old Lana and her companion Mui on a heartfelt rescue mission. The sequel picks up after the arrival of advanced alien technology has put Novo into chaos, forcing its many tribes to either adapt or face extinction. A new society, the ruthless Dijinghala, is exploiting this technology to strip the planet’s natural resources.
The adventure begins anew when Lana’s niece gets caught in the middle of this planetary exploitation. Lana and Mui set out on another journey to reclaim Novo’s future, but their path quickly becomes complicated as they are forced to confront their own past and the shadowed history of their home world.

Since the events of the first game, three major factions have emerged on Novo, each holding a distinct attitude toward the pervasive presence of the alien machines:
To set the stage for this planet-wide conflict, the approximately 6- to 8-hour campaign grants players access to a wider array of new environments, including snowy mountains, deep oceans, ancient forests, forgotten ruins, and even urban areas.
Set for release in early 2026 for Xbox Series X/S (Game Pass), PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch / Switch 2, the game continues to challenge players to interpret its narrative, which is told entirely in a made-up language without subtitles.
