Independent studio Endflame has revealed Silent Road, a first-person psychological horror game set in a remote Japanese forest known for its tragic history of suicides. The game is being developed for PC via Steam, and a playable demo is on the way.

In Silent Road, you play as a taxi driver working the night shift, steering through empty forest paths and forgotten villages. Each trip becomes a test of nerves as you pick up strange passengers whose quiet conversations slowly turn unsettling. The game’s look and feel are inspired by classic Japanese horror, similar to the eerie mood of Silent Hill f and Fatal Frame, complete with fog-covered roads and heavy silence.

To make things even more tense, there are moments when you must step out of the vehicle to help passengers with uneasy requests. Even the smallest task feels unsafe in this hostile world, pushing players deeper into the mystery and dread of Silent Road.

Endflame co-founders Laura Ripoll and Guillem Travila explained the inspiration behind the project: “We’ve always loved Japanese horror, the quiet tension, the atmosphere, the way it stays with you long after it ends. Silent Road grew from that love.”
