Fresh off the success of Bloodless, Brazilian indie developer Point N’ Sheep has officially unveiled its next game called Laser Guy, which is focused on topic many developers know all too well: burnout.

Laser Guy started as a winning entry in the GMTK Game Jam 2020 before evolving into a full commercial release. On the surface, it looks like a twin-stick shooter, but there’s a twist. Your goal isn’t to eliminate enemies. Instead, you’re trying to survive your workday without accidentally blasting your coworkers with uncontrollable laser beams fueled by workplace anxiety.

Players step into the shoes of a stressed-out game developer whose panic manifests as destructive lasers. Every room becomes a puzzle where careful movement and environmental interactions are the key to success. One wrong shot can send you back to the start, turning every office corridor into a tense balancing act.

What makes Laser Guy stand out is its satirical take on the video game industry. The adventure explores everything from impossible deadlines and crunch culture to difficult publisher relationships and overbearing bosses. While wrapped in a colorful sci-fi setting, the themes draw heavily from real experiences within game development.

The game also features collectible items that unlock additional lore, including emails, game jam results, and glimpses into the lives of the fictional developers working at Sovereign Entertainment.

The Steam page is already live, giving players their first chance to wishlist the game.
