Pocketpair has confirmed that Palworld will officially leave Steam Early Access and launch version 1.0 on July 10, 2026, marking the end of more than two years of ongoing development. The developer has also announced that the game’s price will remain unchanged at €28.99 despite its full release.
Many Early Access titles increase in price once they reach version 1.0 to reflect their completed state. Pocketpair, however, has chosen a different approach, saying it wants to reward players who have supported the game throughout its development. The studio confirmed it is keeping the current price “as a small way of saying thank you”, suggesting the decision is intended to be permanent rather than a limited-time promotion.
Alongside the release date announcement, Pocketpair revealed that Palworld has now surpassed 40 million players since its Early Access debut in January 2024. The milestone includes players across all platforms, although it does not represent copies sold, as the game launched day one on Xbox and PC Game Pass. Subscribers to Microsoft’s service will also receive the 1.0 update on July 10.
By September 2025, Palworld had sold more than 25 million copies, while its Steam launch saw over 2 million concurrent players, making it one of the platform’s biggest releases at the time. Although the current sales figure remains unknown, the title has established itself as one of the most successful survival games in recent years.
In Palworld, players explore a vast open world inhabited by creatures known as Pals, which can assist with combat, farming, building, and resource gathering. The game supports both solo play and online multiplayer, allowing players to create bases, capture creatures, and survive together.
The game’s success has come despite its ongoing legal dispute with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company over alleged intellectual property infringement. While those proceedings continue, Pocketpair has steadily expanded its studio from a small independent team to a company employing around 110 people, while also growing its publishing business.
