Developer WildArts has announced that Fright Train, a single-player survival horror game set aboard a monster-infested train in Antarctica, will launch for PC via Steam on September 15, 2026.

The game follows Doug Barker, a rookie agent working for the Paranormal Agency Worldwide (P.A.W.), who is sent to investigate a distress signal from the L.R.S. Great White, a mysterious research train operated by the secretive SHARK corporation. What begins as a rescue mission quickly turns into a desperate fight for survival after interdimensional horrors overrun the locomotive.

Unlike traditional survival horror games, Fright Train places equal emphasis on staying alive and keeping the train operational. Players must repair failing systems, monitor the locomotive’s condition, and prevent it from stopping as it speeds across the frozen Antarctic landscape. If the train grinds to a halt, the freezing temperatures and relentless monsters become an even greater threat.

Gameplay combines third-person combat, environmental puzzles, and exploration as players unlock new sections of the massive research train while battling frost zombies and other supernatural creatures. Inventory management also plays a key role, encouraging players to carefully manage limited resources throughout the journey.

WildArts says the game features a tactical combat system where enemy behaviors interact with one another, creating unpredictable encounters. The experience is paired with a mid-2000s-inspired visual style, graphic gore, and a story that blends horror with a touch of humor rather than taking itself too seriously.
