Studio within the Sumo Digital family, Lab42 Games, has announced A Storied Life: Tabitha, a cozy narrative puzzle game that blends cozy mechanics with deep emotional storytelling. The game was revealed during the Awesome Indies showcase at Gamescom 2025 and is set to launch on PC via Steam in early 2026.

The core gameplay revolves around a series of organizational puzzles, where you must explore a picturesque country house and carefully pack items into boxes, considering limited space and weight. This relaxing, hands-on experience is balanced by the game’s branching narrative. Items saved from the house unlock specific words and phrases, which you use to fill the gaps in Tabitha’s memoir.

Depending on the choices you make, such as keeping a family photo album or discarding it, you can craft a narrative that portrays her as a loving family-oriented person, a shy recluse, or even an eccentric. The game is a “labor of love” for Lab42 Games, a studio previously known for its porting work on titles like A Little to the Left and Metal: Hellsinger VR. They are now stepping into the original IP space with their own project.
