Solo developer Alexander Pavicevic has announced Cropageddon, a chaotic first-person roguelite action game that puts players against an army of monstrous fruits, vegetables, and other cursed crops. It is currently to release in 2026 and blends melee combat with elemental magic in a satirical take on the dark fantasy genre. The game is planning an Steam Early Access period of approximately 12 months. In any case, it received more than 400K views on X.

Cropageddon features an Adaptive Combat system heavily inspired by Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, where environmental and physical manipulation are key to survival. The battlefield is designed as a playground of destruction, encouraging creative spell combinations.

Unlike many roguelites where levels are procedurally generated, Cropageddon utilizes fixed, handcrafted arenas. While the levels don’t change, the player’s approach must, as they tackle wave survival, timed battles, and other challenging modes. Learning enemy patterns and discovering secrets is crucial to success.

Between runs, players unlock powerful new spells and weapons through meta-progression, allowing them to experiment with different starting loadouts. While temporary boons reset with each death, the permanent upgrades ensure you grows stronger, keeping the challenge new while rewarding sustained effort.
