Ghost Ship Games presented a gameplay trailer during the Triple-i Initiative Showcase for Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core, a new 1-4 player co-op FPS with roguelite elements that brings even more action to the world of the popular Deep Rock Galactic. Along with the game announcement, sign-ups for the closed alpha test have opened via the Steam page.

The game’s plot revolves around an elite unit of dwarves, the Reclaimers, who are fighting a new threat known as the Core Spawn. After a mysterious event called The Grayout, mining operations on the planet Hoxxes have ceased, and the Reclaimers are sent to investigate and eliminate the danger.

Unlike the original, Rogue Core introduces roguelite mechanics; each mission starts with basic gear, and players collect weapons, upgrades, and special abilities during the challenges to survive increasingly difficult enemy waves. The key to success lies in teamwork and flexible tactics, especially since enemies grow stronger the longer the squad remains in the mines.

Every mission brings procedurally generated caves, and the Core Spawn enemies present a new level of danger—smarter and deadlier than anything the dwarves have encountered before. Players will be able to use experimental gear, including the powerful Reclaimer Gauntlets, while exploring the deepest and darkest parts of Hoxxes.

Alpha testing is already available for sign-up, giving fans of the series a chance to be among the first to try this ambitious spin-off. All those interested in participating can visit the game’s Steam page and click on “Request Access”.
