The open sea has always been a place of fear and isolation, and SENARA: The Sacrament uses that setting to full effect. Developed by indie studio Influsion Inc., this first-person survival horror game takes place aboard a massive, abandoned cruise ship slowly falling apart in the middle of the ocean. While a full release date has not yet been confirmed, a playable demo is set to arrive on Steam in February 2026, offering an early look at the nightmare waiting inside the vessel.

The story begins with a new recruit joining a secretive religious group and boarding the Senara, a 6,000-ton ship meant for a historic first voyage. However, after a sudden loss of consciousness, the awakening reveals an empty ship where thousands once lived and worked. The halls are now silent, broken only by strange sounds and horrific creatures roaming the metal corridors. Truth is not given directly, but instead uncovered through scattered notes, damaged environments, and tense encounters with a handful of unstable survivors.

A major focus of SENARA is realism. The development team used LiDAR scanning and photogrammetry to capture a real ship in extreme detail, then rebuilt it using Unity’s HDRP system. This process gives the environment a grounded and unsettling feel, where rust, pipes, and narrow hallways feel real and worn. According to director No-Jin Kwak, the goal is to honor classic survival horror by creating tight, maze-like spaces that slowly build fear through atmosphere rather than constant action.

Gameplay leans heavily on tension and choice where supplies are scarce, making every decision matter. Some threats demand confrontation, while others are better avoided through careful movement and timing. The ship itself acts like a giant puzzle, with locked paths, hidden rooms, and strange rituals slowly revealing the truth behind the disaster.
