Syphono4’s upcoming PC game, Hear The Bell Toll, blends city-building with roguelike strategy, all wrapped in a Victorian Gothic style. Coming soon to Steam, it promises short, satisfying sessions packed with strategic depth and replayable challenges.
In Hear The Bell Toll, you’re a city planner building and maintaining a settlement through unique runs. You buy buildings from a shop, much like in Autochess games, and place them on a grid to boost profits. Profits grow by combining population and tax revenue. Each year, you need to collect enough tribute to keep your city going, but beware: every three years, disasters hit.
Hear The Bell Toll offers deep strategy through managing class synergies and tackling issues like crime and sickness, which can quickly destabilize your city if ignored. You’ll also use powerful banners, game-changing modifiers that add unique twists to each run. With over 50 buildings across 10 classes, 100 unique banners, and various biomes and ascension levels, the game provides tons of options to experiment with strategies and conquer tougher challenges.
The game throws players into a strange Victorian-inspired wilderness where alchemy, exploration, and physics all collide.
