The Lift Announced as a Supernatural Handyman Simulator for PC

Publisher tinyBuild and its subsidiary, developer Fantastic Signals, have officially revealed The Lift, a new first-person, narrative-driven, supernatural handyman simulator. The game is set to launch on PC via Steam in 2026, with a limited-time open playtest available now for players to get a first look.

According to Fantastic Signals founder and game director Ivan Slovtsov, The Lift is inspired by the works of the Strugatsky brothers and the SCP Foundation, creating a mysterious and highly interactive world. You will take on the role of a handyman tasked with renovating a massive research facility that was abandoned after a mysterious incident.

The core gameplay revolves around three key pillars. The first is renovate, where players will tackle a variety of projects on each floor, from simple repairs to complex electrical work, using a variety of gadgets. Second is explore, which uses the titular Lift as a mobile base to travel across different biomes, unlock hidden areas, and piece together the truth behind the facility’s past. Finally, the repair mechanic challenges you to breathe life back into dozen devices by building circuits, managing power supplies, and troubleshooting systems.
