FDG Entertainment and Game Atelier have revealed Otherskin, a groundbreaking third-person shooter coming to PC via Steam in Q4 2024. This long-awaited game invites players to join Alex on a solo mission to uncover the secrets of the mysterious planet Vandermire.
In Otherskin, you play as space crusader Alex, who has a critical task ahead of her. Vandermire, once home to the now-extinct Magna species, is believed to be the source of a spreading corruption threatening the entire universe. As the 13th volunteer of Project Exodus, Alex uses a cutting-edge AI-powered suit to collect vital information about the corruption before it claims her life. Each mission is meant to extend survival time on the planet’s surface and ultimately find a way to contain the threat.
The core of Otherskin lies in its transformative gameplay mechanics. As Alex navigates Vandermire, every enemy encounter presents an opportunity to absorb alien “morphs.” These organic abilities enhance Alex’s combat and mobility options, offering a dynamic and constantly evolving gameplay experience. This ability to reshape the world through new moves and powers adds a unique twist to traditional third-person shooter mechanics.
Alex’s journey is supported by her advanced AI suit, which players can upgrade to maximize weapon efficiency, life support, and combat agility. The suit’s AI voice provides guidance and support. You can seamlessly switch between powerful long-range weapons and fast-paced melee combat, enabling versatile and strategic gameplay.
