Publisher Dear Villagers and development team Plane Toast have recently announced their new game Caravan SandWitch, which is set to release in 2024 for PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC via Steam. This warm exploration game promises a unique adventure set in a sci-fi world reminiscent of Provence.
In Caravan SandWitch, you set out on a journey driven by the mystery of your missing sister. As you travel through this beautifully crafted world, you’ll interact with various communities, help them with their tasks, and meet new people. The game emphasizes calm and leisurely exploration, with no combat, death, or time limits, just you, your van, and a vast world waiting to be discovered.
As you progress, you can upgrade your van, granting access to new areas and ancient ruins. This journey leads you through diverse landscapes, from lush green environments to barren deserts, highlighting the impact of human activity on the planet. Along the way, you’ll encounter the Reinetos, an old Aboriginal species, robots left behind after the planet’s exploitation, and people who chose to stay after most moved to another planet. Among these inhabitants, you’ll also meet the mysterious SandWitch. All of these characters coexist peacefully, helping one another survive in this harsh environment.
The game places a strong emphasis on community and cooperation. As you help the diverse cast of characters you meet, you’ll realize that your community is your home. Your contributions help build a harmonious living space in a world that has become hostile due to excessive exploitation.
