Yooka-Replaylee Relaunches Beloved Duo in an Improved Adventure This October

PM Studios and Playtonic Games have announced that Yooka-Replaylee, the definitive remade version of the 3D platformer Yooka-Laylee, will launch on October 9, 2025. The game will be available digitally on Nintendo Switch 2, PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. A physical edition, priced at 49.99$, is also available for pre-order and will include exclusive goodies.

Playtonic has upgraded every aspect of the game, not just with a fresh coat of paint but with thoughtful improvements to the core experience. Every move, mechanic, and moment has been carefully redesigned to make the adventure more modern and welcoming. According to Gavin Price, Studio Director at Playtonic, “It’s bigger, brighter, bolder, and packed with all the little touches we always dreamed of.”

The game is a love letter to golden-age collectathon platformers, developed by key creative talent behind the classic Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong Country series. Players will once again explore huge, beautiful open worlds as the lovable buddy duo, Yooka and Laylee, all backed by a beautiful orchestral soundtrack from composers Grant Kirkhope and David Wise. The remade version introduces an expandable map, a new collectible currency, and tons of customization options.
